Fall Fundraisers at Ambleside
November 2019
From the Desk of Mrs. Flora
I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying your holiday break. When we return to school it will be December and the kick off two fundraising opportunities that we do in the fall.
The first fundraiser is a raffle, On Monday December 2nd each student will receive an envelope with 10 raffle tickets and a flyer. More tickets will be available as needed. The raffle this year has one prize, it is a lifetime hunting and fishing license, this prize is valued at $1,800. We are fortunate this year that our prize has generously been donated by friends of Ambleside Mr. and Mrs. Richard Way. The donation means that all money raised from selling tickets will go directly to the school.
The second fundraiser is 100% online, we will be participating in Giving Tuesday again this year. This fundraiser is hosted by Facebook. It is a one day only fundraiser held on Tuesday December 3rd. All funds raised during this online fundraiser will go directly to the school. We encourage donations throughout the day but if you would like to schedule your donation for 7:00 am we have a chance at Facebook matching some of our donations. Last year we had over $700 matched. I will be sharing posts on both of Facebook pages and encourage you to share as well, every donation is appreciated and helps.
The question that comes up frequently is why does a private school that charges tuition have to fund raise. The average cost of educating a child for a single year according to Texas Education Agency is $9,471, National Education Agency states the cost is closer $10,456. At Ambleside our full tuition is not near either of those numbers. Ambleside School of San Angelo also offers variable tuition to 48% of our student population. These fundraisers allow us to continue to offer variable tuition along with a high quality education with highly qualified faculty. Ambleside is a registered non-profit.
We appreciate any and all help as we work together to raise funds for Ambleside School of San Angelo.
Every Blessing,
Mrs. Flora
