Important Information
Patriot Day
On September 11th have students wear Red, White, and Blue for Patriot Day
Student Handbook
Students have been presented with information in the Student Handbook and it is a reminder for both parents and student to review the information. Students and Parents will be asked to sign the Student Handbook acknowledgment page in the Student Planner and returned to their 5th-period teacher (it says 1st in the planner, but we will collect in 5th)
Student Dress Code
As a reminder, the student dress code will be enforced and we ask that you review the dress code on page 14-15 of the Student Handbook.
Text-a-Tip- (657-859-9567)
Students can make a confidential report to school administration through the Text-a-Tip line. This is not a 24-hour hotline and will only be responded to during school hours. Items to report would include but not limited to harassment, bullying, fighting, drugs or alcohol, vaping, self-harm, or academic integrity issues. Anonymous reports must provide sufficient corroborating evidence to justify the commencement of an investigation. Because of the inability of investigators to interview anonymous complainants, it may be more difficult to evaluate the allegations and, therefore, less likely to cause an investigation to be initiated.
PTSA Membership
PTSA Membership drive is still going on and we are close to 500 members. If you or your student have not joined please consider joining as the money raised by the PTSA helps support teachers and students on YLMS campus. For more information please visit the PTSA Website.
PTSA Reflections Art Program
The Reflections ART Program is a National PTA cultural arts competition. The purpose of this program is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. Each year, Reflections challenges students to create art that supports a specific theme.
Students may submit an entry in one or more of the following six arts areas: Visual Arts, Photography, Literature, Music Composition, Dance Choreography and Film Production. There is also a Special Artist Division category for students with qualifying disabilities as defined under the Americans Disabilities Act (ADA).
