Pixels represented in binary
All you need to know
A minute area of illumination on a display screen, one of many from which an image is composed. Each pixel is then given a binary code representing its brightness and colour (or its shade of grey if it is a black and white image).
A vector image of a face, and the instructions used to create the image.
A bitmap images take the form of an array, where the value of each element, called a pixel picture element, correspond to the color of that portion of the image. Each horizontal line in the image is called a scan line.
The letter 'a' might be represented in a 12x14 matrix. The values in the matrix choose the brightness of the pixels (picture elements). Larger values correspond to brighter areas whilst lower values are darker.
