Grandparent's Day

In honor of Grandparent's Day, grandparents were invited to celebrate International Dot Day with their grandchildren. Students and grandparents listened to a reading of this inspirational story by Peter Reynolds and then created their own "mark." A great time was had by all!

Instructional Resources

Through a partnership with Region One's Library Purchasing Cooperative, PSJA students and staff have access to hundreds of magazine subscriptions and online reference databases, digital video services and other instructional resources. New this year, is Brain Hive's eBook service. Brain Hive’s eBooks help build students’ digital literacy skills to prepare them for online testing. Digital tools include note taking, note sharing, highlighting, citations, and a dictionary. Brain Hive’s reporting tools also track the amount of time spent reading and the number of pages turned, allowing educators to assess students’ digital stamina.

Representing Farias Elementary at the 22nd Annual BRIGHT Summer Readers award ceremony were Alina Garcia, Alondra Lopez, Kayda Ramirez, Arianna Lugo, Leonardo Salas, and Juan Vela. Congratulations these students and all students who turned in a reading log for their summer reading achievement.

Thank you to the PSJA Education Foundation for sponsoring this event.
