OLVCS Updates
April 9, 2021
Dear Parents,
Once again our OLVCS families have again gone above and beyond in generosity! This time is was for the children who benefit from the Jared Box Project.
As you know, this year marks the 20th anniversary of the Jared Box Project. As part of our all-school effort, 295 Jared Boxes were made by our school families this year. These boxes were delivered to the following medical centers:
- Geisinger Janet Weiss Children's Hospital
- Allegheny General Medical Center in Pittsburgh
- UPMC/Mercy Medical Center Burn Unit in Pittsburgh
- West Virginia University Children's Hospital in Morgantown, WV
- Mount Nittany Medical Center
Thanks to the talents of a Jared Box Project Intern, Erik Zeigler, and two of our 8th graders, Ashley Laskowski and Becky Mignot, below you can view a heartwarming video about this year's Jared Box Project effort.
As always, thank you to Mrs. Cindy Kolarik, who coordinates the Jared Box Project which continues to bring joy and smiles to children receiving medical care throughout all 50 states.
Taking on the heart of Jesus,
Chad Packer, MEd
Principal, OLVCS

OLVCS Athletics Update
Crusaders Run, Jump, and Throw At Tyrone
On Wednesday, the Crusader Track and Field team traveled to Tyrone to compete against middle school student-athletes from Philipsburg-Oseola, Penns Valley, and Tyrone middle schools.
“It was a long two years since our last track meet and our athletes did not disappoint," said Mrs. Ruthie Straub, OLVCS Head Coach. "I cannot pick just one or two athletes of the meet because every single one of our runners, jumpers and throwers did an amazing job! I could not be more proud of their positive attitudes and determination to do their best."
The OLVCS girls team won the meet against Tyrone, 71-42. The boys team fell short but with only 9 athletes "their performance as a team was amazing," said Coach Straub.
When the score sheets become available, they will be posted on the OLVCS website on the Track and Field page. The next meet is Monday, April 12, 2021 at Philipsburg-Oseola High School.
"I know we will have a ton of personal records!” predicted Coach Straub.
