Newsletter Week 1 Term 2

Meeanee School 4th May, 2022

MESSAGE FROM THE SWIVELLY CHAIR

Welcome back to Term 2. With the introduction of Orange setting at the end of last term it allows us a few more freedoms at school including being able to have Assembly inside, and having Buddy Reading and School Singing! Unfortunately it still limits the interaction of adults on sight but hopefully this may change later in the year.

Your children have had an excellent start to the term. It's fantastic to see their batteries recharged and them raring to get on with their learning. Staff completed their Teacher Only Day on PB4L and looked at how our reward system is going and how our behaviour management recording is going. We have made a few minor tweaks to our system but we can see a continued improvement in behaviour across the school.

Be Kind, Stay Safe,

POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR FOR LEARNING

EXCELLENCE

We will take pride in all our work.

PB4L REWARD SYSTEM

Term 1 Gem Winners

Congratulations to Green House who earned the most Gems in Term 1 for great behaviour in the playground. They enjoyed their hot chip morning tea this morning.

Term 1 Holiday improvements

Over the holidays we had a flurry of activity at school. A group titled Torque IP came into school to test our lighting, acoustics and air quality. They have left in classrooms a monitoring device (as shown in the picture below). We will get a report from them in the future.

Taylors Pools and Spas were on deck to install our new chlorination system for the school pool. This system is of the highest quality and we are one of the first schools in Hawke's Bay to have it. At the same time we received a quote to have the pool painted.

Last week it was great to see the team from Downer outside school putting new seal down outside our front entrance.
