BLUE ROOM DONATIONS

The kindness and out pouring of help has been overwhelming, THANK YOU!! Many parent volunteers came in to sort and hang clothing and the blue room is looking so much better.

As volunteers continue to work through sorting please refrain from bringing clothing still. Now that more has been hung we are over flowing and running out of actual space, when it rains it pours.

We will keep you posted. As always, parents are welcome to shop the blue room, the clothing is free and is quite helpful when trying to build your child's uniform wardrobe.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TEAM - HAVING A GREAT YEAR!!

Our girls volleyball team is having a great season!! Check out the latest pics and action shots!!

The Charnley Foundation Scholarship (towards Catholic High School 24/25 school year)

The Charnley Foundation was created to continue the legacy of my Aunt (Sister) Joan Charnley, my Uncle Joe Charnley and my Uncle (Rev) George Charnley in catholic schools across the Archdiocese of Detroit. Being a part of Catholic education was always very important to these three and I am excited to have this scholarship to remember them.

The Charnley Foundation will be awarding 2 $5,000 scholarships to 1 girl and 1 boy 8th grade CYO participant attending a Catholic high school in the 24-25 school year.

Some background about my family

My Uncle Joe coached basketball at Divine Child HS (among other places) and finished his career as the director of CYO athletics. My Uncle George retired as the pastor of St James after leading several parishes prior. My Aunt Joan, an IHM nun, was the principal of Bishop Borgess HS and Marian HS. All three of them were passionate about helping students through education and athletics in the Catholic school community.

Scholarship Information:

Applications are open and can be found at this link: https://www.thecharnleyfoundation.com/applyforscholarship

Criteria: 8th grade CYO participant that will be attending a catholic high school in the fall

Application due date: December 30th, 2023

Scholarship award will be announced in Feb 2024

How you can help:

Please share with your community and nominate 8th graders that would benefit from this scholarship. We are looking to help fill a financial need for students that might not be able to attend Catholic high school otherwise.

We will be having another fundraiser scramble golf outing in June 2024, so be on the lookout for more information around that as well.

Please reach out to me with any questions.

We look forward to working with you and helping students continue their catholic education.

Thank you,

Lisa Kullman

SPORTS CONCESSIONS - SERVICE CREDIT OPPORTUNITY

Stocking our concessions booths for sports events is a very important responsibility. Visitors like to snack on popcorn, chips, candy, sports drinks and water while watching our Crusaders play/compete at home games.

We currently need a volunteer/family to make sure that all these items are kept stocked throughout the school year. You do not have to be at every game but you will need to make sure that the concessions are stocked and that there is enough volunteers to run the concessions for each home game. This is for girls volleyball, boys varsity and junior varsity basketball and girls basketball.

The position covers all 12 service credit hours for the year. If interested please email the school at school@holycrossonline.net

SPORTS CORNER

Students are required to have an updated sports physical every school year if participating in any sport here at Holy Cross. If you turned one in last Fall it is now time for a new one. Your doctors office should have an up to date physical form or you can get one HERE for them to fill out. Student athletes cannot participate without one!

PAY TO PLAY: Every student participating in sports must pay the $50 "pay to play" fee. Please bring this fee to the school office as soon as possible (it can wait until the first day of school, no need for a special trip) if your student is in Cross Country or Volleyball.

VOLLEYBALL SIGN UP OPPORTUNITIES: There are opportunities for volunteers this volleyball season. Please take a look and sign up where you can. Thank you!! CLICK HERE!

BRENNAN FAMILY SUPPORT!!

Dear Crusaders, ALS affects the lives of many, including the Brennan family. Mr. Brennan was diagnosed with ALS and he and his family are doing their best to make things as comfortable for Mr. Brennan as possible. Jim now has a feeding tube and cannot be left alone so it's getting harder for LeeAnn to leave the house. Meals would be a Godsend. Please sign up and share. Many hands make light work. https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/o9gm5l

Seventh Graders and New Crusaders

Thank you!
