ClassLink Updates December 2020

ClassLink is getting a facelift! Here's what you must know!

Attention teachers and staff!

In December ClassLink is getting a facelift! In addition, we have enabled two new features: Teacher Console (for teachers) and My Backpack (for students).

To get you ready for these enhancements and features, we have designed a fun activity for you that ends with some great prizes up for grabs! What do you have to do to get an entry for the prizes? Complete the activities below and pass the quiz with at least an 80% for entry.

You also get 1 credit hour of PD and technology IF you take the quiz and pass with 80%! You can retake the quiz multiple times!

ClassLink offers instructors on-demand and live webinars! Check out these resources from ClassLink to help you understand the new features and pass the quiz!

Because of these new features, students no longer are able to add their own apps (links)! AITS will start removing student added apps mid-December. You should let your students know this is going to happen!

Apps the district pushes to ALL students will not be in Teacher Console. Only apps that are rostered to specific PowerSchool courses are in Teacher Console.

Did we mention you can win prizes?

You need to complete the Google quiz in the next section with an 80% passing score by Tuesday, December 15 at noon to be entered into the drawing. Prizes will be drawn live on Webex at 3:45 PM on the 15th. Check your email for details on seeing the raffle drawing live.

That was a lot of new information! Let’s show what you know. Click here to be taken to an activity to briefly check your understanding of the new My Apps interface as well as the two NEW features: Teacher Console and My Backpack. Do your best and don’t forget to hit submit! You’ll automatically be entered into a raffle for some great prizes and swag from ClassLink!

Need an APP?

You can add a bookmarked app on your own! To get an app approved that needs a login and password to be stored in the locker, complete one of these forms. We will watch for these daily!

Secondary Software Approval Form

Here is a video from another district highlighting the changes!

SDPC is not allowing students to add their own apps. If teachers want their students to use a particular app, they will need to add it to their students' backpacks. AITS is only adding apps that are single sign-on or rostered from the district. Start at the 1 minute mark.

A HUGE thanks to ClassLink for sponsoring this giveway!
