Swan Valley School of Choice
School of Choice will be open from May 2 to May 27, 2022, open grades are Y5's, 3rd to 12th grades, and Alt Ed minimum of one. The accept and denial letters will be sent out June 14th.

SVHS Blood Drive
SVHS will be hosting its final blood drive on May 10th from 7:30-2:15 in the multi-purpose room. Any student wishing to give blood should sign up when the workers come classroom to classroom on May 5th. Or you can email tray2@svsd.us for an appointment.

Prom Information
The SVHS prom is on May 14th from 7pm-11pm. Doors open at 6:30, dinner will be served at 7:30. Join us for dinner, dancing, and fun!
Heidi McGrandy will be on site for pictures (1-5X7 included with each ticket). Nightlife Entertainment will be our DJ and will have their photo booth there (also included in price). Ticket price also includes your parking and entrance fee to the Swan Valley HS After Prom! Tickets will be available for purchase during both lunch hours beginning April 25-May 2, 2022 Tickets are $50 per person.
Non-SVHS guests must have approval form turned in prior to the event, in order to attend. Prom is for juniors and seniors only, but a sophomore may attend as a guest of a junior or a senior.

SV Girls Basketball
There will be an informational meeting for all Girls Basketball parents/players going into 7th thru 12th grade on Sunday May 22nd from 6:00 - 7:00 pm. At this meeting you will receive a summer schedule, clarification of events, and an opportunity to ask questions if needed. The future is bright for SV Girls Basketball, so whether you are a returning player, or someone that wants to be a part of the program - please come check out the opportunities.
News from the Athletic Office
- The Swan Valley Athletic Department and the Varsity Girls and Boys Track Teams are looking for volunteers to work the next home track meet on Thursday, May 12th at 4:00 p.m. If you can help, please stop by the Athletic Office and talk to Mr. Stephens.
- The Swan Valley Athletic Department is looking for volunteers to help with the Family 5K Fun Run & Walk on the Thomas Township Rail Trail starting at the High School to help bring awareness to Gallbladder Cancer and support one of Swan Valley's own, Cherie Dobschensky. The time frame would be from 9-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 14th. If you can help, please stop by the Athletic Office and talk to Mr. Stephens.
Senior Athletic Banquet
The Senior Athletic Banquet will be Thursday, May 26th @ 6:30pm at Crooked Creek Banquet Center. In order to be considered a Senior Athlete, you must have participated in a sport and completed the season in your Senior year. Letters with more details and the RSVP will be mailed out the end of April.

STEM Opportunity
STEM@SVSU and the GLBR East Chief Science Officers are excited to offer a FREE Teen Science Café on Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 5:30 - 8:00 pm.
Teen Science Café events allow teens and STEM professionals to engage in meaningful conversations and explore advances in science and technology. This event is open to any student in 6th - 12th grade in the Great Lakes Bay Region (Arenac, Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Isabella, Midland, Saginaw counties), as well as Huron and Tuscola counties.
Teen Science Cafés are always Free, Fun, and have Food! Pizza will be provided for dinner.

Great Lakes Bay Manufacturers Association Program
The Great Lakes Bay Manufacturers Association (GLBMA) is pleased to announce their Young Mfg Mentor program. This program is designed to encourage students 16 to 25 years old to engage in the manufacturing community. The program is part of the Great Lakes Bay Manufacturers Association initiative to educate and keep today’s youth in the region.

LEADERSHIP CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS
The Michigan Association of Student Councils and Honor Societies (MASC/MAHS) Summer Leadership Camp provides an opportunity for students to experience lessons in leadership, communications, group activities, and goal setting. Through this competitive process, students in grades nine through 12 receive scholarships to attend camp.
Every year, SET SEG receives hundreds of applications from all throughout Michigan and awards $26,000 in full scholarships.
Note the due date for submission is Saturday, June 18, 2022.

Swan Valley Little League is looking for an Umpire Supervisor, Game Umpires and a Field's Crew for the 2022 Season.
Both positions are paid positions that include training.
Hours for the Fields Crew are approximately after school until Game Start time of 6 pm, Monday through Thursday.
Hours for Umpires are 545 pm until the end of the game, Monday through Thursday.
