PLC AID - $10 ADDS UP

Professional Learning Community Aid

A new category of aid to schools, Professional Learning Community (PLC) Aid, was proposed as part of the 2017 state budget to support educators’ engagement with student assessment results. PLC Aid will provide $10 per student for every district to support the development of learning communities within and across districts, in order to help teachers and administrators analyze and use the assessment data they collect to improve classroom instruction. Districts are encouraged to send district and school curriculum staff to participate in twelve (12) regional work sessions being offered by the Division of Teaching and Learning. Districts may also consider using the Blended Online Learning Modules for Professional Learning Communities Using the Connected Action Roadmap, which were developed in partnership by NJDOE, NJIT, and NJPSA. These modules are free to all users.
