Mrs. Strozyk's First Grade
I have been a Catholic School Teacher for the past 27 years. Working in conjunction with parents and our Church, I feel very blessed to be entrusted to help pass on our Catholic Faith to another generation of children. So much of who I am and my faith formation came from what I learned at the small Catholic School, St. Joseph’s, that I attended where I grew up in Northwest Arkansas. Teaching in a Catholic School, I feel that I can teach the whole child... academically, emotionally, and spiritually. It is a beautiful thing to be able to start and end each day with prayer.
I love learning, and I hope to pass on that love and enthusiasm to my students. I try to teach them organization skills, and self-responsible behaviors, as well as setting high expectations for themselves, as to always do their work at high level.
We spend a lot of time reading and writing in 1st Grade, not only in Reading class, but across the curriculum. The students quickly see the importance of reading and writing skills as we use our problem solving skills on our word problems in Math, and as we unlock interesting and exciting topics in Social Studies and Science. I have a Master’s of Arts in Teaching from Oakland City University as well as a B.S. in Elementary Education and Secondary Education.
