Hello from the principal's desk!
Nov 15, 2017
Hello RBE family! Tons going on over here... please send the link below for our Science camp out to your community on Facebook and Twitter. We could really use the help getting funds together to pay for our Science camp for families that can't afford to pay their way. Please consider donating!
In other news, we originally had our Multi Cultural Heritage Night planned for tomorrow, Nov 16th. Unfortunately, we had to postpone this event. The tentative rescheduled date is Jan 19th. We hope you can join us for this potluck celebration of our many countries of origin, home languages, religions and ethnicities!
Tuesday, November 14th was Ruby Bridges Day here at RBE. We celebrated the 57th year of the first day Ruby Bridges integrated the all white William Frantz Elementary School in Louisiana. She is certainly one of the most important child heroes in all of American history. She continues to play a large role in the visioning of our school, and we honor her strength and integrity every day.
Please follow the link for another important survey that you SHOULD take! It is the City of Alameda Community Needs survey. More info can be found here. Please please please let your voice be heard. The survey is in English, Spanish and Mandarin.
The week after the Thanksgiving break we have early release all week for parent conferences. TK and K are released at 11:40, 1st - 5th are released at 12:30. I hope you all get a chance to meet with your child's teacher(s) and hear about how well they are doing and what you can do to help them at home!
With gratitude,
Jesse Woodward
