Parent Opinion Survey
Section 59-18-900 of the Education Accountability Act requires that annual school report cards include “evaluations of the school by parents, teachers, and students.” Parent perceptions as collected in the Parent Opinion Survey appear on our school report card and provide school staff with insight to issues within our school. Additionally, results from the Parent Opinion Survey are used by the Education Oversight Committee to meet the requirements of Section 59-28-190 of the Parental Involvement in Their Children’s Education Act.
Although the Parent Opinion Survey has been administered for many years, only parents of students in the highest grade in elementary and middle schools and parents of 11th graders in high schools previously were afforded the opportunity to respond to the paper survey. This year the survey has been moved to an online platform and is accessible via computer and mobile device. All parents of students in grades K-12 may now participate.
Please complete the Parent Opinion Survey by: May 21, 2021.
To access the Parent Opinion Survey click on this link: https://ed.sc.gov/surveys/parent-survey/
Once at the survey, choose either the English or Spanish version of the survey to complete. Families should complete only one survey for each of their children enrolled in public school.
Next, enter the seven-digit ID of our school. The ID for our school is 4603023
Before opening the survey, the name of the school will appear, and you will be asked to confirm that you are completing the survey for the correct school.
Each school where your children are enrolled will provide you with their school ID.
You will receive a letter from the State Superintendent of Education with additional information. Please read that letter before completing the survey.
The survey is anonymous, but if you feel uncomfortable in responding to any question you may skip that question. The survey will note that a question has been left unanswered, but you can click continue to proceed without answering the question.
Your time and effort in completing this survey is greatly appreciated.
Carolina Family Engagement Center Family Survey
It's that time of year for surveys! This survey, sponsored by our partners at the Carolina Family Engagement Center, will help us better understand how families and schools work together to support students' learning. This survey is given by a team at the University of South Carolina. Your responses to this survey are anonymous, and you will not be asked for your name. Results will be summarized and shared with CFEC staff, school, and district leaders. It should take about 5 minutes to complete. We appreciate you taking this survey. Below is a link for the survey in English and in Spanish. Thank you!

Rising 6th Graders
This week, our rising 6th graders have received their recommendations and their course selection packets for next school year! Please be sure to review this information with your students and discuss which courses they would be interested in taking next school year.
If you have any questions, you may ask your student's teacher or our School Counselor, Ms. Morgan (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Help Us Build A Sensory Garden at Ebinport!
Here's a great opportunity to help our Ebinport kids and staff have some learning fun and better cope with the ongoing stress of the COVID-19 pandemic at the same time!
Help us "populate" our new Ebinport SENSORY GARDEN by donating items or providing funding support -- it is as easy as looking over the SignUp Genius list that the Ebinport SIC and PTO have created!
Donated items should be dropped off at the school. Look for the poster sign located outside the back gate near the cafeteria. Then, please email Principal Kelsey and Dave Keely that day to let them know you have left a donation for the Sensory Garden.
Volunteers will be "constructing" the new garden area during March, so stay tuned and let Principal Kelsey and Dave Keely know if you would like to help with that as well!

Please contact an administrator or the school nurse (Rhonda Cranford, RN, direct line:803-981-1564) if your student tests positive for Covid-19 or is in close contact with a person who has tested positive.
Communication this school year is key in the prevention and spread of the Covid-19 virus.
What does it mean to be a close contact of someone with COVID-19?
Close contact is defined as being within 6 feet of someone who tested positive for COVID-19 for at least several minutes (usually about 15 minutes). The virus is spread primarily from person to person through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks. It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth or nose. That is why it is so important to wash your hands often and clean frequently touched surfaces at least daily.
