March 10, 2021
I hope that you are all enjoying the beautiful weather this week and are looking forward to seeing temperatures climb up into the sixties tomorrow and Friday! It is such a pleasure to see our students out enjoying playing in the fields, riding bikes and walking around town with friends and family. We know what a difficult year this has been for all of our students, staff members and families and are really looking forward to returning to a greater sense of normalcy in the coming months. While we recognize that we will need to remain vigilant about safety protocols and procedures, the increase of access to vaccines and the declining case counts both locally and at the state level are very positive signs!
We are excited to announce that students in the Norfolk Public Schools, grades 1-6, will be returning to full in person learning on Monday, April 5th. The district continues to work hard to finalize plans for supporting a safe, smooth transition of students back to school. Based on feedback from the parent survey, we are revising bus routes and schedules so that all students interested in accessing school based transportation will be assigned a seat on the bus. More information about bus routes and arrival and dismissal procedures will be sent out to families in the next few weeks.
Due to the restrictions that have been imposed on districts by the Massachusetts Department of Education and the Department of Public Health, we are very disappointed that we are unable to support a transition back to full-day kindergarten at the current time. We recognize how difficult hybrid learning is for students and parents and are working hard to create alternative options for Kindergarten families. We are pleased that we will be able to offer a very low-cost opportunity for full-day programming for interested families in partnership with the Norfolk Recreation program. We will be hosting an information night for current Kindergarten parents on Thursday evening from 6:30-7:15. We look forward to sharing more information with you about this program on Thursday night.
We will also be hosting an information night for parents in grades 1-6 the last week of March to provide further information about reopening plans and provide a forum for parents to ask questions and share information. Stay tuned for information about dates and times.
Enjoy the rest of the week,
Important Information for Current Kindergarten Families
Recently, we have received questions from parents regarding the structure of our Kindergarten Learning Model for the remainder of the current school year. In order to answer these questions and provide some background information, Dr. Allardi, Mrs. Balfour and Ms. Saldana will host an information session for our current Kindergarten families. You will have the opportunity to ask clarifying questions at the end of the session. We have scheduled this session for this Thursday, March 11th in order to answer questions and address concerns in a timely fashion.
If you have any questions in regard to this meeting, please reach out to Dr. Allardi or Mrs. Balfour.
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday evening!

Last Chance to Register- "Parent Portal"
As part of our continued effort to reduce paper and limit our environmental footprint, the district will be implementing a new 'Parent Portal' called iParent, where parents will be able to access information about their child's school attendance, as well as view his/her/their report cards. We will not be sending home hard copies of report cards for Term 2 (T2), but will make the report cards available for you to review through iParent. If you do not have access to a computer or internet, hard copies will be made available upon request, by calling the H. Olive Day School office at
508-541-5475 or the Freeman-Kennedy School office at 508-528-1266.
If you have more than one child in the district you will get multiple emails/connect-eds with your student/s ID.
Please make sure you only create ONE iParent account and register ALL your children who are currently attending Norfolk Public Schools at the same time.
Please click on the link below to register for your iParent account and set up your login and password.
You can create your own user id and password.
Your user id cannot contain any spaces.
