Town of Elizabeth marks School Choice Week
Town leaders, at their most recent trustees meeting, proclaimed Jan. 22-28 as Town of Elizabeth School Choice Week.
The proclamation notes, in part, "our area schools are the fourth-highest rated in the Denver metro area according to the Colorado Department of Education" and the Town "recognizes the important role that an effective education plays in preparing all students in Town of Elizabeth to be successful adults."
It also says Elizabeth is "home to a multitude of excellent education options from which parents can choose for their children" and "our area has many high-quality teaching and support professionals who are committed to education our children ... ."
School Choice Week is celebrated nationally to raise awareness of the need for effective educational options. Interim Superintendent Bill Dallas was on hand at the Jan. 10 meeting to receive the proclamation signed by Mayor Nick Snively.
District Accountability Committee shares survey results
The District Accountability Committee conducted an online parent survey in first two weeks of November, asking parents for input about the schools their students attend. Emails were sent directly to families, and reminders appeared in multiple editions of this newsletter and well as on social media.
The results were recently presented to the Board of Education, families were emailed earlier this week, and charts of those survey results can be found on the district website under Board Committees.
