Piotor Ilych Tchaikovsky 1840-1893
Tchaikovsky was born on May 7, 1840, in Votkinsk, Russia. Tchaikovsky loved his mother, Alexandra, who was the second wife of his father, Ilya Perovich. He had a half-sister, Zinaida, an older brother Nikolay, a younger brother Ipollit, twin brothers Modest and Anatol, and a younger sister Alexandra whom he loved.
When he was little he went to people's houses to find a home for the last kitten in a litter born to a cat belonging to one of his father's serfs.
This is the house in Votkinsk where he was born, and where he grew up.
Swan Lake Waltz - Tchaikovsky
Swan Lake is a ballet composed 1875-1876. It failed at first, but now its one of the most popular of all ballets.
