If a person is coughing forcefully encourage them to continue to dislodge the object. If a person cannot dislodge the object themselves give 5 back blows. You are behind the person with your forearm across the chest and your hand on their shoulder. With the heel of the other hand give 5 back blows in-between their shoulder blades. Then give 5 abdominal thrust , have person face away from you and bring your arms around to the front of the victim and give 5 inward thrust to the abdominal thrust to the abdomen. Repeat with back blows and abdominal thrust until object is dislodged. If the person is unconscious or goes unconscious start chest compression.
