Colt Corner
Celebrating 40 Years of Excellence
December 16, 2016
Dear Colt Parents,
What a great first semester at CMS! So much has happened these past four and a half months which have flown by. Our 6th graders have gotten into the swing of things and are quickly becoming veterans in navigating the middle school life. We have had many classroom and academic successes. Here are just a few to mention: 8th grade boys & girls won the district cross country championship, we had three 7th & 8th grade football district champions, 37 All-District Band members & 23 All-Region Band members honors, 7 students made All-Region Choir, 7 former Colts at CHHS were honored with semifinalist national merit honors, students recognized at the district board meeting for various awards, and the list goes on and on. We have a lot to celebrate this 1st semester and know that the 2nd semester will only continue. On behalf of the CMS staff, I want to personally thank you for entrusting your children to us. I hope that you and your family have a wonderful holiday break together and wish you a very happy new year. We will see you in 2017!
BEST,
David Arencibia, Ed.D.

6th Grade Cotillion
Cotillion invitations were given to all 6th period teachers and passed out in class on Monday, November 28. Your child should have received an invitation and response card. Your child may have it in their backpack or locker if you haven't received it yet. Please mail the response card and payment in the addressed envelope that was included or turn it in to the CMS office. Please DO NOT have your child turn it in to any teachers as they are NOT collecting them.
In case your child has no clue what you're talking about when you ask them about their Cotillion invitation or they can't find it, the invitation and response card are attached below. Please mail your card and payment to Kelly Hall, 701 Green Meadow Street N Colleyville, TX 76034 or return it to the CMS office. You will receive a confirmation email after your payment has been received and recorded. Please remember that space is limited so send your response cards in quickly to ensure that your child gets a spot!
We will need MANY volunteers for Cotillion. A Sign Up Genius link will be sent to parents along with your confirmation email. ONLY parents who have an approved GCISD background check for 2016-17 and have completed the CMS volunteer training are eligible to help with this event. Please make sure you have completed both. If you have questions regarding volunteering, please contact Angie Wallace at mplusaw@att.net.
If you have any questions regarding Cotillion, please contact Sannon Elms at shannonelms@mac.com. Thanks and we are looking forward to a fun event and learning experience for all the kids!
