School Theme for 19-20 The Kindness Crew
The Kindness Crew- We will hang bright colorful paper chains with acts of kindness throughout our hallways. It is so important that not only teachers, but students recognize and praise kindness that they see happening around them. When one person is kind, it starts a chain reaction.
Here is how it will work:
- We will have precut colorful strips/links available for teachers to keep in their classrooms
- It is recommended teachers take these links and place them in two baskets in their classroom (blank ones and completed ones)
- Students take the link and write an act of kindness that someone did to THEM, or that they witnessed.
- If the link is about a student in the class, the kid that wrote the link places it on their desk so that person can read and feel all warm and fuzzy! If it is about another student in another classroom, the student can place it in the plastic mailbox outside the classroom teacher's door.
- Each classroom has a ‘Kindness Crew Leader"
- The kindness Crew Leaders have monthly meetings with the other kindness crew leaders in the school to help brainstorm ways to help spread kindness throughout our building (Maybe choose the kiddo that needs it the most..What would happen if the classroom bully became the kindness crew leader) They can count the kindness links and staple them into chains.
- We will report monthly the number of kindness links earned by each classroom. It will be posted outside each classroom door.
- There will be monthly challenges for classrooms to keep the kindness coming.

JHS Senior Graduates to visit Edgelea

10:10-Edgelea students begin lining the hallways.
First grade and Banning -south side; Kindergarten and Prather-east side; second grade and Freeman north side; third grade and Smith west side. I would like 4th graders at the beginning of each hallway to lead with enthusiasm and excitement.
They will walk around the square.
10:15 JHS students arrive at Edgelea. They will walk around the building starting down the north side by art room and make their way around the building. (Last year, I think they went around two times).
10:30 JHS students Load buses and head back to JHS
10:45 JHS graduates have class photo back at JEFF
If your classroom would like to create a poster or sign for our JHS graduates for the front entry way, we have plenty of poster board. Please deliver it to the front office by Thursday afternoon. I'll decorate Friday morning.

NationalParks.org provides students with electronic field trips that provide students the opportunity to go to parks they may never otherwise get to visit. The National Parks Service offers free ranger-guided virtual field trips on a first come first serve basis.
With the Google Expeditions app, available on iOs and Android, you can take your class on interactive journeys in both VR (virtual reality) and AR (augmented reality). Through Aquilla Education’s website, you can search available expeditions by grade level, subject or location.
