Principals Post
Kennedy Families,
It's the season of Thankfulness and I love this time of year. I'm all about some fall decorations and our beautiful changing mountains. In the past I have started to listen to Christmas music on November 1, but during the more recent years I've attempted to be more mindful of Thanksgiving and all it entails. Family is so precious, and we need to take time to be present and grateful for all that we have. Many recent studies show that focusing on being grateful lowers stress, lessens depression, and helps us live longer more fulfilled lives. I'm grateful for our school, our students, and our Lynn Garden Community. Truly, there is no better school anywhere.
Thank you for sharing your child(ren) with us! Let us know if you need anything!
Hear us HOWL,

Here is a little bit of information about different clubs at Kennedy. Did you know?
- Our Family Liaison, Debbie Allen and our School Counselor, Kim Oaks-Blair have monthly meetings with student leaders who were nominated by teachers to be Student Ambassadors. We charge these students with being solutions oriented, and with changing our school for the better. (Pictured Above)
- Mr. Andy Walters (3rd Grade) has a HOWLers club that meets with him, wears ties and dress shirts, and goes around Kingsport learning about being a young man. They recently visited Dobyns-Bennett and toured the athletics department! They have met with city leaders and represent our students well! (Pictured above)
- Ms. Callie Jeter (Art Teacher) leads the STREAM Club. STREAM stands for Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, and Math. The learn about robotics and compete in competitions.
- Ms. Bethany Paupeck is building a club called Ladies of Lynn Garden soon! Similar to HOWLers Club, they will talk about leadership and life skills.
- We have something called "Kennedy Clubs" each month. Students pick the top 3 clubs they would like to attend and we pair them with a teacher. For 45 minutes a month our students will be involved in a club such as "football", "board games, or "dancing". Your child will join one soon and these will begin this month!
- Girls on the Run will start up again next semester! We'd love to have your daughter (and you if you'd like to) get involved! There is a curriculum led by our teachers and they finish the season running a 5K race!
