Virtual Learning Sessions
Empowered Learning At-Home has concluded PBL 1 and teachers recorded grades for all submitted assignments. If you have not received your child's progress report please contact the teacher. If your child has not completed the required assignments in PBL 1 it is not too late to submit the missing assignments.
Teachers started implementing PBL 2 through several virtual sessions. They will continue to utilize Empowered Learning At-Home, Schoology, and Google Hangouts to assist with virtual class sessions. Be sure to check communications from your child's teachers throughout the week. The teachers communicate class sessions, class assignments, and additional resources that are available.

Pre-K & Kindergarten Registration
Spring ISD prekindergarten and kindergarten online registration for the 2020-21 school year opened April 27. Pre-K students will need to be four years old on or before Sept. 1, 2020 and meet Texas Education Agency eligibility requirements. Students who will be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2020 and are not enrolled in Spring ISD PreK this year may also pre-register.
This will be the first year that full-day prekindergarten has been offered at every elementary school, and the district is hoping parents will take advantage of early registration to enroll their children.
To register for prekindergarten or kindergarten and for more information, including eligibility requirements and Frequently Asked Questions, parents should go to www.springisd.org/prek. District staff will be available to assist parents in both English and Spanish with the online registration, if needed, by calling 281-891-6337.
Curbside Meals for Spring ISD Students: Monday and Wednesday only
The district will now be handing out packets of multiple-day meals on Mondays and Wednesdays only. On Monday, families will pick up meals for Monday and Tuesday, and on Wednesdays, they will receive meals for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
“We’re making this change to minimize the number of family trips to schools and ensure we do our part to “Stay Home, Stay Safe” as ordered by state and local officials,” said Chief Operations Officer Mark Miranda. “Fewer trips will be more convenient for our families.”
Because larger kitchens and food storage are needed to accommodate this change, the following sites will be offering meal pick-up:
- Bailey
- Booker
- Clark Primary
- Claughton
- McNabb
- Reynolds
- Westfield
Parents will be able to pick up on Mondays and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon at all sites. Evening pick up will be available at Bailey, Claughton and Westfield from 4 to 6 p.m.
In another change, families will have the option of just popping their trunks so the meals can be placed inside. District officials remind families that meals are available to all children 18 years and younger but they must be present in the vehicle to receive them.

Financial Help for Renters
In the past weeks, issues such as food stability, health, education and income have all been impacted. With people’s finances disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic, renters may have difficulty making rent payments. We are sharing a list of resources, from the COVID-19 Houston Resource Pack, for anyone who might be facing this issue. We ask whether or not you might need this help, that you share it with anyone who you know might need it as well.
