This message is intended to be a reminder to take a looksy at your three strategies: "make sense of a task", "got reading", and "get comfy with sharing." These nugget-sized strategies and their accompanied think tanks come straight to ya as ideas to consider talking more about with your teacher partner. They support our ELL's learning! STAFF ONLY:
Instructional Rounds: Rounds are this week. Please plan accordingly. ALSO! We have extra subs available to help you in your classes and with groups or kiddos if you'd like - a sub is available Tuesday 1st and Enrich, Wednesday 3rd and Enrich, and Thursday 4th. Let Anzelc know if you're interested in utilizing a sub - she'll get you hooked up on the schedule!
8th Grade Hearing Screening: If you're an 8th grade teacher with a 3rd period on Nov 4, review your calendar item to see what time you need to be at the Hearing Van.
Visitors Tuesday: Team Pirates! We will have about 20 neighboring admin joining in our PD room for a training with Joe Jones, Leader In Me Coach. If you see them around, please feel free to say hello! They're on campus to learn more about Leader In Me and also take a looksy at how we do Leadership at NP3! Some of our Pirate Posse Action Team will be leading them in a campus tour to some of your classes. They will likely be looking at leadership notebooks and other leadership type displays. Feel free to use the PD room as needed.
Post Spirit Week: Please remind our kiddos to be wise and kind with their dress options. We all know it's hard to go back to the norm after a week of spirit week. Thank you for your help!
Rally Info: There is all advisory/no enrichment Nov 15 for the Q2 rally. Rally release times are as follows: 6th 1:40; 7th 1:45 and 8th 1:50. Please review expectations with your Advisory before the rally and click here for the seating chart.
PARENTS & FAMILIES:
- 2020-2021 Open Enrollment: Do you know someone who wants to be a Pirate? Open enrollment for the 20-21 school year is Tue Oct 15- Fri Nov 15 for all K-9 students. Click here to view application information on our website. Applications are available in the front office and on our website. Current students do not need to fill out an application.
- Transportation Bus Evacuation Drill: NUSD Transportation service will be training students how to safely exit a bus during an emergency Nov 6. The training will include proper loading and unloading, bus rules, school bus evacuation, emergency equipment, etc. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. McGuire.
- Community Chalk Squares: Pirate Lighthouse is inviting all Advisory classes to chalk it up by adding their mission statement on a square near the MS building Oct 29-Dec 13. See Mrs. Carey for details and sign-ups. This is SO exciting!
- Game Night: The Event Planning action team is hosting a Game Night on Nov 8 after school 3:10-4:35pm room 202. Students will play games such as Monopoly, Jenga, Life and more!
- No School: There is no school Nov 11 in observance of Veterans Day.
- Q2 Rally & Sign-ups: Get ready for the Q2 rally Nov 15! Would you like to participate in our rally? Student Govt will have Chromebooks you can sign-up on at lunch 11/12-11/13. Thank you Student Govt!
- Yearbooks: 2019-20 yearbooks are on sale now for $25! Order yours online here and search Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep Middle School. There are a limited number of yearbooks available do order yours now!
- Cookie Dough Fundraiser: 6th grade and 8th grade students attending Science Camp or DC/NYC trips will be selling cookie dough for $10 a tub. See Rollins or Clark for details.
- Run for Rhett Fall Fitness Program: This is a 6 week training program that leads up to the annual "Run Because You Can" 5k. Mandatory training sessions are on Tue 11/5, 11/12, 11/19 and 12/3 from 3-4 pm. There are optional workouts Fri after after school on 11/1, 11/8, 11/15 and 11/22 from 3-4 pm. Sign ups are with Ms. Clark and additional information/forms can be found on the "Pirates Run" tab on the school website.
