Riverside Middle School

Weekly Update 10/30/15

Peer Mediation Training

On Thursday, October 15th, our Peer Mediators gathered for some training on how to deal peer issues and provide solutions to their problems. Many new 6th graders were trained with problem solving tips and tricks to use when mediating a issue or concern.

Mrs. Amy Christine Parker

We had the privilege of hosting an Artist in residence Tuesday and Wednesday. Mrs. Amy Christine Parker spoke to a group of aspiring writers on Tuesday and all of our 8th Grade ELA class on Wednesday to conveyed the way she takes ideas from her surroundings and experiences to get ideas for her novels.

Web of Compliments

Students in our Physical education classes participated in an activity called Web of Compliments. During the activity, someone started off with a ball of yarn and gave another person a compliment. They then tossed the yarn to that person and the process continued until the "web" was created. GREAT activity for our students Mr. Washington, Mr. Johnson, and Ms. Heos!

Most of the items that have been on this list are finished; however, a few items still remain...
