DUAL ENROLLMENT
Students who recently passed the PERT exam for Dual Enrollment need to complete a PHSC Dual Enrollment application at PHSC.edu. Click APPLY in the upper right and then select the Dual Enrollment application option.
Look for the email from PHSC with next steps including setting up their PHSC student email, completing new student orientation and the online readiness course, and directions for requesting summer/fall classes (this is not currently available).
SUMMER DUAL ENROLLMENT
Summer Dynamic Forms are now open for students who plan to take a Summer DE class. Summer Dynamic Form has been updated and is now available here!
Students may only take the Summer 10-week courses. You can see the Course Schedule here.
Students must fill out the Dynamic Form and the parent must electronically sign this (student will enter parent email). Then the school counselor and PHSC advisor will approve the class. All students will have to register for summer classes through PHSC WISE using the dates in pictures below.
9th grade and lower can take one class (online only)
10th graders can take up to 7 credit hours
11th graders can take up to 8 credit hours
12th graders would need to pursue Credit Banking or the second summer term as a degree-seeking student.
New Dual Enrollment students must have completed their PHSC student application, new student orientation, and online readiness course in order to register for classes in April.
BEYOND! SENIOR CAREER FAIR FIELD TRIP 4/23
SENIORS! Please join us for our Pasco County BEYOND! Career and Tech Expo on April 23rd. If you are interested in career programs including apprenticeships, on the job training, immediate employment opportunities, and armed forces, we invite you to attend. The day will also include resume writing, career panel discussions, and interview strategies. FAFSA NOW OPEN
The 2024-25 FAFSA is now open!
The FAFSA helps students pay for college through federally funded grants and loans. All families should complete this free application to see the types of aid for which they may qualify. The 2024-25 FAFSA offers potential funding for Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025. If a student will be starting college coursework in the summer, they should ALSO fill out the 2023-24 FAFSA to cover the Summer 2024 semester.
Applications are available at FAFSA.gov. The student and one parent will first create their FSA IDs and then they will be directed to the FAFSA form. FAFSA offers a robust Help Center with frequently asked questions, online chat, and a toll-free number to speak with FAFSA representatives (1-800-433-3243). Wesley Chapel High School will offer a Financial Aid Night on January 30th at 6 pm in the cafeteria for any students and parents who would like to attend. A PHSC Financial Aid Advisor will be hosting the presentation.

USF SUMMER NURSING PROGRAM FOR CURRENT 10TH/11TH GRADE STUDENTS!

Program Activities
The Pepin Family USF Nursing Pathway Summer Program consists of small didactic learning groups, hands-on practice in the simulation lab and Mo-Bull Health Unit, fostering relationships with current USF Bull Nurse faculty, students, and academic advisors, and other activities that provide them with experiential learning at the USF College of Nursing and with community and hospital partners across the Tampa Bay region.
BRIGHT FUTURES SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION OPEN FOR SENIORS!
Several other scholarships are included in this Florida Financial Aid Application including First Generation Matching Grants, Hispanic Scholars, and the 100% Military Disability Scholarship for those with parents deemed 100% disabled from military service.

NAVIANCE: COLLEGE, CAREER, & LIFE READY STUDENTS
Pasco County Schools has partnered with Naviance, a customizable online planning tool for students in grades 6-12. With Naviance, students can discover personal interests & strengths, research career & college opportunities, & connect learning to academic goal setting & planning.
Naviance is an esteemed College, Career & Life Readiness program that will assist high school students plan for post-secondary success. It allows students self-paced opportunities to:
Learn about themselves – their strengths, interests, and learning styles,
Match careers, colleges and majors to their unique characteristics, academic profile and
preferences,
Build and revise their academic plan and analyze the rigor of their schedule/plan with that of their choice colleges’ entrance requirements or career plans and
Create a resume showcasing their experience, skills, and goals.
Students can access Naviance anytime, anywhere by logging in through myPascoConnect Apps, looking for the Naviance icon, and then clicking Single Sign On (SSO). An account has already been created for students.
NAVIANCE FOUR-YEAR PLANS NOW AVAILABLE!
HOW TO ACCESS:
1) In MyPascoConnect, students will click Naviance icon and then select "Log in with SSO"
2) Under the "Courses" heading, select "Manage Course Plans"
3) Some students have created a plan that can be used to plan coursework; others will need to click the pink + button and create a "24 Credit Plan"
4) Enter the plan and chart your path toward graduation!

If your student is engaging in another community service opportunity, please text or email Mrs. Faysash for pre-approval. This is to ensure the hours will count towards Bright Futures.
*Paid work hours are now being accepted in place of community service hours for Bright Futures. You will need to bring in Pay Stubs or a W-2 to prove employment.
