District Solo and Ensemble

Saturday, March 3rd @ Wauwatosa WEST High School

All of our Band students are required to participate in a large ensemble for Solo and Ensemble. Please make sure this date is on your calendar.

Note: All groups should report to the Cafeteria to Warm-up. Mrs. Lato and Mr. Krubsack will be bringing all of the Large Group Judge’s Copies to West High School.

If you are performing a solo, duet, or trio; be sure to bring an original copy for the adjudicator as well as your own copy. Set an arrival time for the members of your duet or trio. Plan to arrive at least 30-45 minutes before your first scheduled event.

All Large Ensembles will meet in the Cafeteria at the designated report time listed below.

Your large Ensembles always take precedent over other events.

Don’t forget to take your instrument home on Friday.

The East Band room will not be open on Saturday.

Plan accordingly to transport your instrument home on Friday as well as to West on Saturday. Instruments must be returned to school on Monday.

This is a “dress-up” event. Concert Attire is appropriate.

For example:

-Men wear Dress Pants and a Dress Shirt no Tennis Shoes or Jeans

-Women wear Skirt (knee length), Dress Pants, Dress Shirt, No Tennis Shoes or Jeans.

All attire must adhere to the district’s dress code.

Concessions will be available.

Big picture

We need volunteers for Solo and Ensemble!!!

Please consider volunteering your time!

Afternoon volunteers should plan on meeting in the Wauwatosa West Library at Noon.

If you are volunteering with us all day you only need to attend the morning meeting. Please note that if you are volunteering in the afternoon on Saturday, parking can be a challenge. Please plan some extra time to allow yourself to find a parking spot.

Master Class Afternoon

Friday, February 23rd

Jeff and I are extremely excited to announce that on Friday, February 23rd we will be hosting 10 professional musicians to give instrumental clinics to our students. We are extremely excited to offer this opportunity to our students. As we don't have lessons at the High School, this is a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn about technique, repertoire, equipment and other items from professionals that play their instruments! Additionally, all students will also receive a coaching session on their ensemble piece for Solo and Ensemble. Students received information about this event last week and we are thrilled that administration saw the value in this opportunity and immediately supported all of our students attending!

Please let us know if you have any questions.
