It's Here!!!

I started at St. Patrick School in 2012 and since then there has always been talk of purchasing a dishwasher for our cafeteria. I know that the talk began long before I came, so it's been several years of talking about it! Well, guess what.....IT'S HERE!!

Thanks to a very generous donation from the St. Patrick PTO, we now have a dishwasher! Our students are finally able to eat off of actual trays and real silverware! They are drinking out of plastic cups versus paper cups. Best of all, the waste from plastic and paper has been eliminated!

We are truly blessed at St. Patrick School to have a PTO who does so much for us. I hope that you will join me on Tuesday, September 25th at 6:00 pm for the official "unveiling" of the dishwasher at the first PTO meeting of the school year. We can't wait to share our gratitude and excitement with you.

Weekend School Mass - September 9

On Sunday at 11:00, we will have our first weekend school mass. This month. our middle school students will be participating in reading, serving, and bearing gifts. Please have your child where his/her uniform to mass on this day. All students in attendance will receive a "Student Prize Wheel Drawing" ticket that they can fill out and turn in for a chance to spin the student prize wheel.

I hope to see many of our students in attendance!

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens

For the next several weeks, I will be spending 30 minutes with our middle school classes each week concentrating on the book, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens". The book, written by Sean Covey, focuses on the reality that being a teenager in today's world is HARD! This book is a guide to help get teens where they want to be in the future.

Each week, the students and I will talk about the different habits and complete activities designed to guide students in developing them.

Habit 1: Be proactive: Take responsibility for your life.

Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind. Define your mission and goals in life.

Habit 3: Put First Things First. Prioritize, and do the most important things first.

Habit 4: Think Win-Win. Have an "everyone can win" attitude.

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood. Listen to people sincerely.

Habit 6: Synergize. Work together to achieve more.

Habit 7: Sharpen the saw. Renew yourself regularly.

St. Patrick School

The mission of St. Patrick School is to develop young men and women with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs. We stress the total development of each child: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical. Encouragement is given to students to bring their lives into conformity with God's will and plan, so that He is glorified.
