We Are Thankful
We have so much to be thankful for this school year. We are all in person for learning. A vaccine is available to everyone ages 5+. We have a hard-working staff who put their hearts and souls into this profession. We have supportive, caring families who want what is best for their children. And we have incredible students who love learning and reading, and who want to improve our world.

Special Thanks to Mrs. Cherry for Making This Monday Morning Experience Possible for Our Learning Community
BMS Students Show Thanks
BMS students had the opportunity to write notes of thanks to adults in the building. All notes were delivered the day before the break. Students also had the chance to make cards and pictures for their families and friends. Having a craft station in the library has been a huge hit. We will continue ways to support their creativity!
Sora through OverDrive Now Offers Magazines - No Wait!
Students have access to SO MUCH digital content through Sora. RILINK has now added magazines to our Sora offerings. Have a nonfiction fan in your house? Remind them that reading magazines IS reading! Go to soraapp.com and log in with your school Google account to access all that is available to you!
After School Hours in the Library
Students are able to sign in and stay for the hour after school in the library Mondays through Thursdays (when the late bus is running). Students come to do homework, collaborate, meet with friends, read, and/or just chill.

Research Lesson with Mr. McFarland's Classes
Mr. McFarland brought his classes in on Thursday, November 18 to kick off his research project. We reviewed effective strategies for using Google for research. Students tried some of the 8 tips we reviewed at the end of class.
Manga/Anime Club at the Barrington Public Library
Ms. Tanya, the Teen Librarian at Barrington Public Library, and I have joined forces to start a Manga/Anime Club based on student interest. Our first meeting was held on Thursday, November 18 at 6:30 PM upstairs in the gallery. Seventeen students participated! We rolled candy sushi and discussed next steps. Be sure to check the Barrington Library events page to sign up for the next meeting. It will be held on Thursday, December 16th from 6:30 to 7:30 PM.
