Final Exams have been modified to a final chapter/unit test or project-
Based on the continuation of Distance Learning through the end of the semester, final exams have been modified and are being replaced with a chapter/unit project or test. (Advanced Placement classes have specific requirements and may require a final exam.) The final grade will be an average of the first and second marking period. Students have an opportunity to raise their final grade by being successful with these final important assessments.
High School only-If your child failed the semester in one or more classes, they will have an opportunity to take the exam and test out to earn credit. They must pass the assessment with 60% or better. The test out day will be on January 13. Please review this important letter regarding ways to assist students who are failing one or more classes:

High School Students will Participate in Career Exploration
Xello | Who are you? How do you Learn? What Interests You?
Xello is an online platform that helps assess students' skills, interests and goals to better prepare them for future academic and career success. It is required that all Columbia Jr. Sr. High School students complete assignments in Xello each semester. This allows our school counselors to provide more personalized and efficient support to ensure students reach their full potential.
We are holding an instructional session, with Q&A and time for completion on Wednesday, December 9th.
Attendance will be taken as this is mandatory and students are required to join Zoom to learn how to complete their Xello profile properly. Students can access Zoom links, assignment and attendance requirements for this in their SAT Prep, Senior Trans or English 9/10 Google Classroom.
In order for this to be a productive and successful endeavor, students must know their PowerSchool login so they can access the platform on their Chromebook or Laptop. It won’t work on a cell phone. If they can’t access their login credentials, they may email me prior to the session.
You can learn more about Xello by watching this short video. If you have any questions, please feel free to emily.wallace@myeagles.org.
Zoom Schedule for Xello on December 9th
9:30-10:30 AM-Juniors
10:30-11:30 AM-Seniors
12:30-1:30 PM-Freshman
1:30-2:30 PM-Sophomores
Meal Pick Up and Snow Days
Free meals for Columbia Central families may be picked every Wednesday from 10 AM-11 AM at Columbia Central Jr./Sr. High School.
Please read this update from the Fitness Center regarding Student Hours-
Based on the current Executive Order the Fitness Center has been required to modify student hours and implement necessary COVID safety protocols. Please review the important information below:
Students must wear a mask at all times throughout their workout, no exceptions. Social distancing is also required while in the Fitness center.
We are able to have 25% capacity, 8 students, in the facility together at a time. In order to comply with this, we will host two 45 minute time sessions for students to work out, Monday-Friday.
Session 1-3:05-3:50 PM
15 minute break to sanitize between sessions
Session 2-4:05-4:50 PM
It is suggested to call ahead to check on how many students are in the Weight room and sign up for a session. Pease call 517-592-3393.
In order to use the Fitness Center during these times, you must be a Columbia Central student and have your Student Contract Form turned in. If you don’t have a form completed one can be picked up at the front desk of the Fitness Center.
Thank you for your understanding!!
