Sierra Verde Weekly Update
January 15, 2021
Welcome Back to SV!
Thanks for all your efforts and flexibiity over these first two weeks of virtual learning! We are excited to welcome back everyone for in-person learning on Tuesday. We are ready and excited to have everyone back and the campus is as clean and safe as it has ever been thanks to our amazing custodial staff who have worked hard this past month to get SV in tip top shape!
We would like to welcome all our DVOA families back to campus for 2nd semester, and we are so glad to have your sons and daughters back to campus. For our DVOA students returning back to campus, please fill out the Covid Release Form and send it back to school by next Friday. You can also sign then scan it and email the form to Mariana.Bennett@dvusd.org.
Below is our return to campus Webinar that was a live presentation on Wednesday January 13. Feel free to watch it and see how SV will continue with our mitigation plan and procedures for 2nd semester. We did this especially for our returning DVOA families this quarter.
2021-2022 Kindergarten Preview Night
Covid Reporting Reminder
The isolation period has been reduced from 14 days to 10 days for a known close contact, so we are hopeful this will help lessen the burden of students needing to stay home for close contact. We appreciate your help in doing your part to keep SV safe and ensuring that you continue to keep your kids home if they have any Covid symptoms.
Just a reminder that we will continue to follow our "low threshold for illness" policy for staff and students, and out of precaution, we will send any students home with Covid like symptoms including a fever. If a student has any Covid symptoms, they must quarantine for 10 days or bring back a negative Covid result before returning to campus.
Middle School Sports Update
ATTENTION athletes.
The sports season may be canceled, but your coaches are going to be holding camps/practices instead.
You MUST be "cleared for tryouts" through Register My Athlete before the camps start.
The $60 fee is waived this year due to the lack of competition. Instead of this fee we are offerring an OPTIONAL $30 fee if you would like to help contribute directly to SV Athletics. We will use this money for equipment and supplies for our camps this year. This is not a compulsory fee, and we do not want anyone to feel obligated to pay.
Volleyball camp will be held by Coach Copenhaver and Coach Greg from January 20th - February 11th, 3:30 - 5:00 pm, Monday - Thursday.
Basketball camp will be held by Coach Hayes and Coach Edwards from February 16th - March 11th, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. , Monday - Thursday.
Baseball/softball and cross country are on hold until Spring Break before a decision is made if those sports can play or if they will turn into camps.
Any questions - email Mrs. Cullen.
Remember if you want to do volleyball make sure you have completed EVERYTHING in Register My Athlete on our athletic website.
Yearbook Update
2020 - 2021 Yearbooks are now on sale. The pre-order price is $25.00. Prices will go up in March. All orders will be online.
Have a Great Weekend!
