Mrs. Thacker - Principal
I am so excited to join the Creighton family and community! I am honored to serve as the new principal and take the campus to the next level. I have been a middle school math teacher, district math coach, assistant principal and recently finished my 6th year as principal at Armstrong Elementary in the Conroe Feeder Zone.
I was excited to find out that I would be moving to Creighton Elementary because this feeder and school holds a special place in my heart. My husband went to Creighton when it was an intermediate school and graduated from Caney Creek High School. Being able to serve the community he grew up in will be an honor and a privilege.
I believe that all kids can grow every year and have high expectations for every campus that I have served. I will ensure that no matter what classroom your child is in, all kids will receive the same education. While I believe every educator at Creighton is responsible for growing your child, we do need you as their guardian to support the campus. In order to grow the campus not only academically but make it a welcoming place for all families, I am asking for parent feedback on how we can accomplish that together. Please fill out the parent feedback link below so we know how we can best communicate and serve you. There is also a link for you to fill out for us to best plan for the instructional needs for next year.
Please join our social media links below so you can see the 2020-2021 Creighton staff. I will begin introducing staff members each week. If you have any questions, comments or concerns feel free to email me at pthacker@conroeisd.net.
I can't wait to meet each of you and your family!
Tricia Thacker
Mr. De La Torre - Assistant Principal
I am so excited to introduce myself and join the Creighton Cubs family! I have been an educator in Conroe ISD for 16 years, primarily as a Bilingual Math teacher. I started at Armstrong Elementary, and have been at Bozman Intermediate for the past 11 years.
My heart and passion have always been for growing my students and building relationships with them and their families.
As student success teacher for the past 2 years, I was able to broaden my reach and work with 5th & 6th grade Bilingual students, in all subject areas. I have enjoyed goal setting and reflecting with them, and instilling the importance of knowing what they are working towards, and celebrating successes along the way. As part of the Leadership Team, I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience that has prepared me to take this next step in my Education career.
My wife Sara, and boys Noah and Alex, are my entire world and we enjoy watching them play basketball, video games, and anything that makes them happy.
We will be relaxing and enjoying some pool days this summer and can’t wait to come back to school!
I look forward to serving as Assistant Principal at Creighton Elementary, and feel very fortunate to be joining an Administrative team with Mrs. Thacker and Mrs. Upshaw.
I cannot wait to meet all of you and start building relationships with our families, community, and our kids.
I hope everyone has a relaxing and healthy summer!
Miguel De La Torre
Mrs. Upshaw
To my new Creighton Cub family,
I am excited about joining you and serving the Creighton students and community. I am appreciative of this time to introduce myself and look forward to the opportunity to meet you in person.
I have served as an educator for 16 years; 6 years as a classroom teacher, 2 years as a district instructional coach, and 8 years as a campus leader with the most recent 10 years in Conroe ISD. I enjoy seeing our students engaging, reading, learning, investigating, writing, and socializing daily and throughout the year. Their academic and social growth, problem solving of the struggles, and the celebration of their progress is our business and we will do it together!
Personally, I spend time with my family (My husband Solon and daughter Kinley- 3 years), my faith, and the people I hold dear. I enjoy porch time, music & reading, coffee, inspirational quotes, being active with my daughter, and vacations at the beach as often as I possibly can.
One of my core values I hold with importance is relationships. When I originally chose to serve children as an educator at the beginning of my career, it seemed simple. I will teach and serve children. But after many wonderful and deepening lessons along the way, I have learned that while children are why we do what we do the people we work alongside to serve them make a huge difference in the work we do every single day. The relationships we build with each other make us even more effective educators for the children and community we serve. I look forward to getting to know each of your kids; their needs and values, and their strengths and talents.
I am excited for next year!
