Project 42- Supporting Schools Affected by Tornadoes
More About Project 42: How JAE Can Help Neighboring Schools Affected by Tornadoes
Students and families at JAE are anxious to help schools affected by last week's tornado. You can find an Amazon link above with a list of items that we will be collecting this week and the week following spring break (March 9-13, March 23-27). Our goal is to collect enough items to fill at least 42 boxes; one from each class at Jack Anderson. Classes will write letters and include a class photo in each box. Please send items to school with your child. We will collect them in the front office.

Earth Day Book Collection
In April, we will collect new and gently used books to share with students affected by last week's storms. More information will be shared later this month.
Impressive Visit
On March 6th, we hosted Sumner County Legislators, TN Dept. of Education, Sumner County Instructional Leaders and Commissioner of Education, Penny Schwinn! This was a very special visit because it was an opportunity for us to highlight why STEM education is important for our students and students in Tennessee. These visitors have the potential to make STEM more accessible for other students in our state through funding and resources. JAE will definitely stand out in Commissioner Schwinn’s mind as one of the best schools in the state!
Dr. Schwinn Listened
Dr. Schwinn spent time in several classrooms and loved hearing students discuss what they're learning.
Gifts from JAE
5th graders at JAE grew these succulents from seeds and gave them as gifts to our visitors.
VIP Guests
Visitors from the Tennessee Dept. of Education, Tennessee STEM Innovation Network, Commissioner Penny Schwinn, TN Legislators, and Sumner County Instruction

Reminders
Early Dismissal
There have been several parents who have come in after 3:15 to pick up children this year. We do not sign students out past 3:15. Whether it is 3:16 or 3:20, please do not be upset when we explain our policy to you.
If you need to sign your child out, please try to be in the office as close to 3:00 as possible. You may have to park on the side of the building closest to Gallatin Road. You may even have to park in the grass. You will notice that both lanes of the car rider line will be full, and you will get stuck if you try to drive around to the front parking lot. You are encouraged to allow plenty of time to make it to the front office to sign your child out before 3:15.
