CIML Guidance for Fall Sports

The Central Iowa Metropolitan League, based upon guidance received from Governor’s Office of the State of Iowa, the Iowa Department of Education, the Iowa Department of Public Health, the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, and the Iowa High School Athletic Association, has released its procedures for spectator admission to the CIML member school fall sports seasons.

These procedures in each respective sport were developed by the 18-member schools to help ensure that participants, staff, and spectators can safely enjoy sports in a manner that promotes social distancing.

Status of Student Activity Tickets (SATs)

Due to the uncertainty surrounding high school athletics and activities schedules, WDMCS has temporarily suspended the sale of Student Activity Tickets (SATs). CIML SATs will not be honored at home or away athletic events, and spectator attendance will be limited like the past baseball and softball seasons.

Families who have purchased a SAT for their student can request a refund. Please contact your school in order to do so. However, WDMCS is working on a process to give families who purchased a SAT free access to livestream viewing of all home varsity athletic events. Read more information in the "Livestreams" section below.

We will share guidance around attendance throughout the year.

Livestreams

Because of the suspension of SATs, WDMCS is collaborating with Central Iowa Sports Network for livestream viewing. Only HOME VARSITY events are being considered through CISN, but coaches at other levels may provide a different resource for their student-athletes and families.

WDMCS will share more details about livestreams as soon as plans are finalized.
