Swim Wins Pattonville Invitational
The GIrls Swim Team had a busy week and of meets and they capped it off by winning the Pattonville Invitational. Earlier in the week the Lady Vikings finished their regular season meet schedule with an 8-0 record. Over the course of the past four years they have amassed a 29-2 record. - 400 Free Relay (Varsity) - Emma Brabham, Madison Nguyen, Natalie Nguyen & Katelyn Schenk finish 1st.
- 400 Free Relay (JV) Mary Todd, Hayden Bissell, Sammi Allen & Shannon Callanan finish 2nd.
- 100 Breastroke - Erin Gilbert takes 5th, Hayden Bissell takes 7th and Sophie Krahl takes 14th.
- 100 Backstroke - Sammi Allen takes 6th Kaitlyn Klott takes 10th, Mary Todd takes 11th.
- 200 Free Relay (Varsity) Reagan Cathcart, Erin Gilbert, Madison Nguyen & Emma Brabham.
- 200 Free Relay (JV) Kayla Thompson, Molly Quick, Kaitlyn Klott & Samanth Allen take second.

Theatre Students Attend Missouri State Thespian Conference
The Howell Limelight Theatre Drama students attended the Missouri State Thespian Conference last week, January 11-13th at the Marriott St. Louis Grand Hotel. The event was attended by drama students throughout the state of Missouri. Student delegates were able to attend large high school productions as well as several one act plays. In addition, workshops were available for both actors and technical crews to improve skills that can be used in their own high school theatre productions.
During the Missouri State Thespian Conference, junior Marissa Gibbons was recognized for her Excellent rating in auditions for the Individual Events Showcase performed at the Conference. Congratulations to Marissa and our Howell theatre students on a great conference.
Freshman Wrestling Takes 6th At GAC Tournament
Congratulations to the freshman wrestling team on placing 6th at the GAC Freshman Tournament on Saturday. The Vikings had seven wrestlers medal. You can view a list of the medalists below. Congratulations to all of the freshman wrestlers on a great Saturday.

113 - Owen Parker (7-6) placed 5th and scored 11.00 team points. 120 - Tanner Bazzell (8-2) placed 4th and scored 13.00 team points. 132 - Alex Kohrs (6-6) placed 6th and scored 9.00 team points. 145 - Jaxson Elder (6-4) placed 5th and scored 11.00 team points. 160 - Jackson Meyer (7-8) placed 5th and scored 11.00 team points. 195 - Owen Heslin (9-2) placed 3rd and scored 14.50 team points. 220 - Jacob Gremminger (5-4) placed 2nd and scored 20.00 team points.

Two Golden Girls Volunteer & Mentor Through UrbanReachSTL
Howell Golden Girls Delaney Squires and Sam Miller have devoted their time to serving in the Columbus Square Neighborhood in St. Louis City since last summer through UrbanReachSTL. Delaney and Sam have been coaching a dance team at Patrick Henry Downtown Academy every Tuesday after school since the beginning of the school year. The duo are working with 4th-6th grade girls on the team and teaching character lessons and the basic skills of dance. They go above and beyond in their roles by celebrating birthdays for each of the girls and providing transportation for many of the girls so that they get home safely. Congratulations to Delaney and Sam for being great role models for these young girls and positive representatives of Howell

The summer, fall, winter, and spring dead periods for the 2018-19 school year have been released. The MSHSAA dates can be found below. We hope that this information helps all Vikings and their families coordinate and prepare for the summer and sports seasons ahead during the 18-19 school year.

Spring Meet the Coaches Set For February 15th
The spring season "Meet the Coaches" has been set for February 15th. Eligibility paperwork turn in will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the high school commons with the meeting portion of the evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. All eligibility paperwork must be complete to be turned in. All students participating in a spring MSHSAA sponsored activity must have this completed prior to the first day on February 26th. It is recommended that all paperwork be turned in at the "Meet the Coaches" event on February 15th. To ensure participation on February 26th all fully complete paperwork must be turned in no later than February 23rd at noon. A link to all eligibility paperwork can be found below.
