PTA-Sponsored Fall Clean-up Day
Please join us for a Fall Clean-up Day of our wonderful, amazing school on Saturday, October 17 from 9-11am! We will trim bushes along the front of the building as well as plant some new flowers in the pots by door. Additionally, we will add new plants, shrubs and other greenery around our school sign to enhance the look of Brookwood Elementary!
Kids are welcome and encouraged to come work alongside their parents. What better way to instill pride in your school than sweat equity mixed with some fun? Please wear your masks as we might not be able to socially distance due to the nature of the work! Also, don’t forget to bring your gardening tools, hedge trimmers, shovels, gloves, rakes, wheelbarrows, etc.
Sign-up Genius registration coming soon. Questions? Contact Kelly Skinner 770.906.8094, mommy23qtz@gmail.com or Owen Skinner 678.696.0122.
Reminder from the Brookwood Cafe'
The school district has extended its curbside pick-up program for free meals to five days a week instead of four. Meals may be picked up at Brookwood Elementary for digital learners and any child under the age of 18, Monday through Friday, between 12 and 1 p.m. The pick-up each day includes both breakfast and lunch. For safety reasons, individuals are not allowed to enter the school to pick up or eat meals.
We also would like to remind you that Gwinnett County Public Schools is offering meals at no charge at school sites to all students—both digital learners and those attending in-person—through December. These meals are provided at no cost to the individual through the federal School Nutrition Program. The school district encourages families who are eligible for the Free & Reduced Meal Program to fill out the annual application to ensure meal benefits continue after that time. The application is available on the GCPS website or at https://www.nlappscloud.com/.

A Message from the Art Room
Dear Brookwood Families,
Due to our Corona virus protocols when it comes to materials, students are limited to only the supplies that they bring to art class this year. Without requiring you the burden of extra purchases, I wanted to provide some ideas that will make art more exciting and meaningful for your children this year. Area stores like Michaels, Hobby Lobby and Walmart have these supplies as does Amazon. If you choose to add these materials, please have your child keep them in his or her supply box or gallon Zipzoc with their name and Classroom teacher's name written on it. Thank you for supporting the Fine Arts program at Brookwood Elementary! We're going to CREATE a great year!
Thank you,
Shea Cunningham, Art Specialist
