Morning Music Selection of the Week at HES!
Although the film “Chariots of Fire” is set in the 1920s, the Academy Award-winning original soundtrack composed by Vangelis uses a modern 1980s electronic sound, with a synthesizer and piano among other instruments. This was a big change from other movies, which use the traditional orchestral instruments. The main tune has become very popular, and has been used in many films and television shows during slow-motion sections. The movie tells the story of two men trying to be the best that they could be at something, and sticking to what they believe in.
The composer, Vangelis, is a Greek-born electronic composer who moved to Paris in the late 1960s, had been living in London since the 1970s.
The music has become a symbol of people trying hard to achieve their best possible results.

"Sun Safety" message from Nurse Fiocca...
With the summer fast approaching, the I would like to send out a reminder on how to practice sun safety.
Please apply sunscreen ( 15 SPF or higher) to your children before school, especially if they will be attending a field trip or be outside for an extended period of time. It doesn’t have to be expensive, the Equate brand sold at Walmart, recently received a very high rating
Make sure your children wear hats, cover-up clothing and sunglasses when participating in outdoor activities
Avoid direct sun exposure when possible between 10 am and 4 pm. Seek shade!
Lead by example and practice good sun safety yourself
