What is the Skeleton
It is a very fast sliding sport where a person rides a small sled ( lying face down head first ) down a frozen track. The sport can be traced back to 1882 in Switzerland. The main skills needed are agility, balance, co-ordination speed. You would probably need to be someone who likes going fast and a thrill seeker

Part of the Winter Olympics in 1928, 1944 and from 2002 to now
The Sled
Made from steel with no brakes or steering controls
Equipment needed
Sled, alpine racing helmet, racing speedsuit, spiked shoes, goggles and optional knee and elbow pads.
