- October 29 - Expectations of Excellence Ceremony, 7:59 AM - Watch live on YouTube: https://youtu.be/ktogORkPY-U. The ceremony will be livestreamed in each first block class.
- November 2 - No School for students - Parent/Teacher Conferences from 2:30 pm to 6 pm. Parents will be able to sign up for fifteen minute conferences with teachers. Teachers may be reaching out to you to schedule a conference. Directions for sign up and how to access Zoom links will be shared in a parent email next week.
- November 2 - Freshmen Ring Bell of Knowledge, 12-2 PM - More information to follow.
- November 3 - No School for students - Election Day

Attention all 9th graders, you will get to uphold a long standing Manassas Park High School tradition by ringing the Bell of Knowledge on November 2, from 12-2pm. More information will follow in an email to 9th grade parents and students next week. Make sure you save the date!
Attention Class of 2020: Order your Graduation supplies today!
Scott Miller with Jostens will discuss how to order cap, tassel, and gown (the only school required items) along with other graduation items you may want. Meetings will be held weekly on Tuesdays in October and November from 5:00 PM-5:30 PM:

Course Completion from Spring 2020
Currently, teachers have been contacting any student with an (*) to support them in their completion of two modules. It is important that students complete all (*) courses by November 10 in order to receive credit. If a student fails to receive credit in a course required for graduation they will need to retake the course for credit recovery.
If you have any questions on whether your student still has an (*) from Spring 2020, please check your PowerSchool Parent Portal, or contact the appropriate school counselor.

Governor's School Prospective Student Information Sessions
The Governor’s School @ Innovation Park is hosting virtual Information happy hours for all 14 public high schools in MCPS, MPCS, & PWCS. Each session will begin with a brief presentation by Dr. Calhoun (GS@IP Director) and/or Mrs. Bach (GS@IP School Counselor). They will then be available to answer any questions students or parents may have about the Governor’s School at Innovation Park. https://governors.pwcs.edu. The information session for parents and students is designed for current 9th grade students who are enrolled in Geometry or Algebra II/Algebra II Honors for the 2020-21 school year and current 10th grade students who are enrolled in Algebra II/Algebra II Honors and/or Precalculus Honors for the 2020-21 school year.

Important Health Information
Food Distribution
Now you can pick up 5 lunches and 5 breakfasts at a time for your child(ren)!
This drive-thru style pick-up will be held at FOUR locations on Monday:
9:00 – 11 am at Cougar Elementary via Cougar Court (updated time)
11:30 am - 12:30 pm at the MP Community Center/Dog Park
1:30 - 2:30 pm at Sandstone Way & Manassas Drive
4:00 – 6 pm at Manassas Park Middle School (updated time)
Meals are limited to one set of meals per child, per week.
Proof of enrollment, or bringing a child(ren) to pick up, is required for parents to pick up meals. Proof of enrollment can include a student ID card, report card, or any other school communication containing the students name(s). If you need assistance with providing proof, the food services department can make an ID badge which you can use for future visits.
If your children are not school aged, our food services team will work with you to provide a proof should you wish to pick up without children in the future. Please talk to them during the pick-up time slots noted above.
We hope that replicating our Summer Feeding Program and adding an additional pick up location and window will permit more families to take advantage of this FREE service.
