School-wide Updates
Grant Opportunity
Our Superintendent received this notice from Schuler Shoes about an opportunity for teachers to apply for a $500 grant for a project. She thought teachers would like to know about this. The application is really simple - a teacher just describes a project in 800 words. Details at: https://www.schulershoes.com/teacher-appreciation
"We’re thankful for our local teachers and understand that when it comes to going above and beyond the call of the classroom, resources can be tough. Whether it’s to help fund the cost of dirt and seed to plant a class garden, or covering bus fees to take students on a special field trip, Rockport and Schuler Shoes want to help. Please share your classroom project idea. Nine projects representing a variety of age groups and learning focuses in our local communities will be selected by our committee to receive a $500 grant. Contest runs September 6 - October 1."
Support When I'm Out
Kristi makes operational decisions when I am away. She stays in contact with me through email and text messages when decisions need immediate attention. She helps with things like guest teachers, schedules, communication, and other operational items.
Chantele makes decisions about student support and student behavior with respect to bus incident reports, playground incidents, and behavior referrals. She will collaborate with Chris as needed if the incident is a major incident.
Chris makes decisions about adult support, major behavior incidents, and parent concerns. Chris also communicates with me through text messages for more immediate response and advice. If I am out of the district, Chris also collaborates with Jeff Radel, Principal at Glen Lake, as needed.
