Parent-Teacher Conferences

We will be having parent-teacher conferences again at the end of the month. They will be Tuesday, February 23rd and Thursday, February 25th from 4:00 - 7:30. Please follow this link to sign up for your child's or children's conferences. If you have problems scheduling a conference, please contact the office or your child's teacher.

Parent Toolkit Videos

We stumbled across a series of short videos produced by the Parent Toolkit website. The videos are typically one minute long and are helpful reminders to parents and educators about working with kids and meeting their social and emotional needs. Teachers will be sharing the videos out this month through Remind.

If you click below, there is one on calming strategies.

Family Reading & Math Night

Thank you to all that visited last month for our Family Reading and Math Night. We had over 350 people attend and it was exciting to welcome you into the building and for you to have a chance to see some of the great things going on in our classrooms.

12,000 Books...Wow!

SES Library Use Soars!!!

During the fall semester, SES students checked out over 12,000 books! That's about 28 books per student. Please keep encouraging your child to read every night.

Attendance Letters

Recognizing that regular school attendance is both the law and leads to the best learning outcomes for students, SASD redid some of our attendance tracking procedures for this school year. The most notable change to many families are reminder letters that are sent out after a student has accrued a certain amount of absences. Letters are sent out after...

  • Five excused absences
  • Eight excused absences
  • Ten excused absences
  • Three unexcused absences
  • Five unexcused absences

The letters are intended to be reminders. If there is a concern about attendance because of unexcused absences or excessive (10 or more) excused absences, we will request a meeting. If you have questions or concerns about your child's attendance or about a letter that you received, I encourage you to contact me at 635-2171, ext. 1002 or email me at stordahll@spooner.k12.wi.us.
