Vikings in Action
Dear Families,
We are moving Forward Together in North Branch Area Public Schools! There is so much action to update you about what is happening across the district!
On May 18 we hosted the Viking Bridge Information Luncheon and had incredible attendance from area industry, post-secondary education, and local and state government. Industry partners signed up to be guest speakers, host field trips, and provide job shadow and internship opportunities. We are so grateful for our growing list of community partners!
Over the past week we have been meeting with 8th graders for a “Rising 9th Grader” to discuss all the open doors for opportunities at the high school. We are learning about each student’s interests and their future hopes and dreams. So many options are available to students in our high school and we are excited for each student to embrace the opportunity to explore and amplify their gifts and talents!
We also learned that Sunrise has been designated a 2021-22 PLTW Launch Distinguished School! Sunrise is one of roughly 280 schools nationwide to receive this distinction. Congratulations to Sunrise and to teacher Carolyn Slater for earning this recognition!
And, an exciting marriage took place last week that has been in the making for a long time. The letter “Q” and the letter “U” tied the knot! Why? Because they are always together! Thanks to our Education Center staff for continuing to come up with creative ways to make learning fun!
Musical concerts, sporting events... so much action! I am so proud to be a Viking!
