Tiger Tales from Sanborn School
Week of February 28th, 2022
Dear Sanborn Families,
Sanborn has been an exciting place for learning over the past month! We have many achievements to share with our community and they are highlighted within this newsletter. Congratulations to the January Golden Paw Award Winners: Ms. Volkmar's 4th grade class and Ms. Lira's Kindergarten class. They were able to earn a special class reward this month for displaying our three tiger traits: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe.
As we move into the third trimester of the school year, we continue to appreciate your partnership and look forward to an exciting spring season at Sanborn! In a few short weeks it will be Spring Break and we hope that you and your family have a safe and relaxing Spring Break Week!
Warmly,
Kate Arenberg, Principal

5Essentials Survey- Parent Feedback Opportunity
Please consider taking the 5Essentials Survey. We currently have 6% of our parent community that has taken the survey and need 20% to receive a report. We appreciate and value your feedback! The survey closes March 11th, 2022.
Students and teachers in District 15 and across Illinois are asked to participate in the annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey is designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of your child’s school. As a parent, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness in a survey about your child’s school.
The 5Essentials Survey asks questions about:
*Effective Leaders
*Collaborative Teachers
*Involved Families
*Supportive Environments
*Ambitious Instruction
You may take the survey by visiting https://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/ and selecting the appropriate survey to begin.
For more information about the Illinois 5Essentials Survey, please visit https://www.isbe.net/Pages/5Essentials-Survey.aspx.

Online Registration Information 22-23
Online student registration for the 2022-23 school year is now open. If you have not already started this process for your student(s), please visit our registration page to start this process.
Registration is the first step in getting ready for the upcoming school year. After you register your child online you need to:
Pay student fees. Our student fee webpage outlines the District’s student fee structure and the three ways fees can be paid.
If you have a student that is starting Kindergarten, entering fourth grade, or entering 7th grade, you are required to prove residency in District 15. Our residency webpage outlines the documents you will need to provide to prove residency.
All three steps of the enrollment process must be completed prior to the start of the school year. Students of families that, when required, do not prove residency, will not be able to attend class in a District 15 until the family’s residency is verified.
