What's Happening in Fifth Grade....
THANK YOU!!
Fifth grade is off to a great start! Thank you so much for sending in the "Helping Star" donations from Meet the Teacher night. We are going to have a wonderful year!!
Earbuds or Headphones:
Each student will need to bring a pair of earbuds or headphones to be kept at school. Please do not send anything fancy as the kids can be quite careless with their devices.
On Monday, August 28th, students will be issued a ChromeBook for 5th grade. If your child had his/her iPad at home for the summer, please be sure the device, along with the charger, has been returned to school by then in order to receive a ChromeBook.
Greenback Fundraiser:
WE NEED YOUR HELP! The 2017-2018 Greenback Fundraiser began on Friday, August 25th. This is the only CES school fundraiser, and 100% of all funds go to the school. If you would like to donate, please send in the donation envelope that came home with your student(s) in Friday folders. We can collect them from you on Thursday evening at Curriculum Night as well. We appreciate your donations, and thank you for your continued support!
Please join us on Thursday, August 31st, for our Curriculum Night. Important parent information will be shared by all of the 5th grade teachers in Mrs. Ray's classroom (D217) at 7:15 pm. We look forward to seeing you then.
CES Volunteers:
In order to volunteer in GCISD a volunteer must:
1. Read the Volunteer Handbook, watch the appropriate video included in the handbook and electronically sign the volunteer verification form.
2. Complete the volunteer background check. A link is included in the handbook.
Here is the link to get to the Volunteer Background Check and Handbook:

ALL VOLUNTEERS ARE REQUIRED TO REAPPLY EACH YEAR. You cannot volunteer at the school until both of these items have been completed through the GCISD Volunteer Handbook, so don’t delay!
At CES, we ask that you not bring younger siblings into the school when volunteering.
