How to Register for High School- for 8th grade English Language Learner (ELL) Families

-February 1st at 7pm- JMM Literacy Center

JMM Course Selection Night for 2017-18- Grades 9-11 Families

Counselors will review key items to think about for Student Course Selection for Fall-2017. There where also be some teachers available from various subject areas to answer questions.

Other Course Selection Dates for 2017-18

-Febraury 6th- Course Selection Cards Handed Out in Advisory

-February 14, 15, 16 - Course Selection input to Career Cruising in Social Studies Classes

Juniors - Feb 14

Sophomores - Feb 15

Freshman - Feb 16

Make up - Feb 17

Feel free to log into Career Cruising on your own time if you would like to get a jump start. Some things to keep in mind:

  1. Choose your own destiny - pick classes w/ your own interests in mind.
  2. Consider your career interests and choose classes that will help you explore those
  3. Remember Graduation Requirement and college admission requirements.

AP EXAM Registration is February 6th-March 3rd

Memorial High School ACT Test on February 28th

The ACT will be administered to JMM Juniors on February 28th during the schoolday. Get some sleep the night before, and use Method Test Prep on Career Cruising to prepare in the weeks before! MMSD pays for this test, but consider what 4 colleges you want to send your score to for free when completing your test registration documents during advisory early this month.

-This is a great year to consider job shadowing someone in a career of interest to you for an hour or two.
-If you want to get hands-on experience, there are some careers that offer a Youth Apprenticeship. CLICK HERE to see information about it and applying for next year.

-For our district's Science Research Internship program, click here and apply by February 3rd!

Juniors, it's still a good time to sign up for a 30 minutes JUNIOR CONFERENCE with your counselor. Find their name above and click on it to put yourself on their calendar.

-This is the year to visit programs, colleges, and options you are thinking about for after graduation.

-Explore course options and your 4-year plan in Career Cruising with someone at home!

-Don't forget, you'll be taking your ACT during school at Memorial on February 28th! Practice for it on Method Test Prep in Career Cruising.


-Continue to work on your applications for college or other programs you hope to pursue after graduation!

-Apply for community scholarships. Meet with your counselor if you have not made plans yet for after graduation!

-Request any transcripts you need at

-If you plan on pursuing financial aid, continue working on The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): Use 2016 Parent/Guardian Tax Information, Create an FSA ID, and Complete the Application.
