A FUN RUN was had by all!
A blast from the past!
The Pirate Way
- May will be the last Terrific Kid of the year. If you would like to recognize two students (rather than just one) feel free to do so. We do ask that these nominations be turned in by the deadline of May 24 so we can ensure we have enough sponsor packets and Heather can order and prepare enough refreshments. The celebration will be May 31. If you have students that need to be re-recognized from April due to parents not being here, please let Carman and Rhonda know.
- Please follow this link and complete the professional development survey so that planning for professional development next year can begin. This should be completed prior to leaving May 3, 2013. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1_sUojxemCWm9PxxyzhIROfUDHKT4mXq4R0I2M3yriag/viewform
- Please remind parents that May 7, 8, 9 and 10 (PASS testing days) parents will not be allowed to come to eat lunch with students. No unauthorized personnel other than volunteers will be allowed in the building during testing.
- A related arts schedule will be sent out via email and will be used for related arts during PASS testing. Please do NOT go to special area, even if it is 12:00, until an announcement is made that testing is over. All special area classes will be on the front field for combined special area classes.
- Please send the name of one team member at your grade level to meet with PTA and the Fun Run committee to begin discussions regarding how Fun Run money will be spent. This name should be sent to Crystal. The date for this meeting will be announced as soon as its finalized. This can be the same person that serves on the leadership team, but does not have to be!
- IHES applied for a grant to have a company design nature trails on school property. We were informed recently we are one of the three finalists for this grant. Representatives for the grant foundation will be coming out to the school next week so that they can see the site of the trail and make final decisions. We will keep you informed as we have more information.
- In partnership with Rock Hill Schools Education Foundation, ther will be a Hi-Tech Student Celebration on Friday, May 10. The celebration will recognize students for their exemplary gains in the classroom. If you are interested in buying a table or sponsoring a table please let Serena Williams know.
