Big picture

2nd Grade Adventures

In order to promote high attendance, we will be spelling out the word ATTENDANCE. Each day that our class has 100% attendance a letter will be added. When the whole word is spelled out, we will celebrate. We will also have a school wide prize for the grade level with the highest attendance. Please help us reach our goal in 2nd grade!

Look at some of the fun we had last week!

ELAR: This week we will focus on connecting to a series of fiction stories about memories.

Math: This week students will compare and order numbers by place value up to 1,200.

Science: We will collect, record and compare information.

Social Studies: Students will learn about the Constitution and rules/ responsibilities we have as American citizens. We will be celebrating Constitution week.

Family Focus

This year we are taking more of a family focused approach to homework. We believe that spending quality family time is vital in the success of your student. We will provide family friendly, engaging homework activities and assignments. We would love if you would send us pictures of these activities and share them with us.

This weeks Family focus:

Our series of books for Reading this week will focus on memories. Please send a photograph or drawing of a memory your child has. We will be using it Thursday for a writing activity. The picture will be returned but will be hung in the hallway with the writing piece. Please talk with your child about the favorite memory he or she will share with the class. We welcome any photograph or drawing by the child.
