Davenport's Weekly Update
Week of February 14th, 2021
Message from the Principal
Greetings,
February seems to be the Month of celebrations and we LOVE it. We hope you all enjoyed Valentine's Day and President's Day with the people you love and care about.
As we move into our last week of Black History Month, I challenge you to read and learn something new about someone that you may have never heard of. Learn about the African American pioneer in education such as Mary McLeod Bethune or doctors like Charles Richard Drew, Dubbed the "Father of the Blood Bank". Also, visit the EHT Library Resources site to view and listen to books to online.
Remember to continue to follow safe health practices, wash your hands, wear your mask, etc. to keep you and your family safe. We cannot wait to see you all back in the building following the recent wintry virtual snow days. Stay warm! Be well!
Until next time :)
Have a great weekend!
Principal Latiya White
**Important announcement for Parents:
Please be advised that February 19th was the last day for parents to request students returning to in person instruction on March 1st. All returning students will need to complete and return the affirmation page which will be provided by the classroom teacher. Also, parents are asked to continue to complete the daily health screening survey form if your child is experiencing any illness or has traveled out of state (specified on the form). Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Student Achievement
Lego Creations
Students in Mrs. Hamilton's MD K-1 class celebrated National Lego Day by creating their favorite animal. They were then asked to create something using their imagination; the results were truly creative and inspiring!
Virtual Library
Davenport Primary students learned how to use the EHT Elementary Schools' Virtual Library this past week in Mrs. Cavileer's class. Students were able to virtually explore the library and listen to books they had picked. They will be using the EHT Virtual Library for a Book Talk project over the next few weeks, and will have access to this safe space at any time from a computer using the link below.
