Principally Speaking
Thank you to all who wished us well for this year's Teacher Appreciation Week. An extra shout out goes to our very own DCMS PTO for providing lunch to our staff today and to Applebee's in Avon for the wonderful lunch on Wednesday! You truly made our week extra special.
ISTEP testing is now complete! With the state assessment behind us, we will move full steam ahead with teaching and learning any remaining and/or less critical state standards in all content areas. We will be purposeful and intent on using our learning time well through the very last day of school.
Many of you know already, but Assistant Principal, Dave Rector, has been out on medical leave. We have been blessed by two amazing teachers who are licensed administrators and have filled in for him and helped me tremendously. Thank you to Mr. Kendall Hendricks and Miss Sara Stevenson, who are interim assistant principals for our students until Mr. Rector can return.
As always, I am blessed to serve as the principal of Danville Community Middle School. Thank you for the opportunity.
4th to 5th Grade Student and Parent Transition Meetings are Coming Soon

Parents will take part in a similar orientation to what students will experience. Our goal is to ease any anxiety on the part of both students and parents.
Scholastic Book Fair
The media center will be hosting a Scholastic “Buy One Get One Free” Book Fair May 7th - 11th. Students who purchase a book during the fair will be able to select a second book of equal or lesser value free. This is a wonderful opportunity to stock up on summer reading.

Are You Moving?
It is that time of year when we begin to turn our sights toward next year. To that end, we are asking that parents who know you will be moving out of the Danville district next year to please contact Mrs. Horan. This helps us to create class lists and also prepare records at the end of the year to forward to your child's new school. We hate to see you go but want to make your move as easy as possible so your child has a smooth transition.
