FWISD ADS PUSH FAMILIES TO REGISTER STUDENTS FOR FALL
With school right around the corner, Fort Worth ISD has relaunched its Rediscover Fort Worth ISD television, radio and social media campaign to get students registered for the 2021-2022 school year.
New commercials – in English and Spanish – send five important messages to families:
- Register your students now for fall 2021. All students, new and returning, must register.
- Mark your calendars for August 16, the first day of the new school year
- Fort Worth ISD is back fully in-person this school year.
- Thousands of students will be returning to many renovations and new additions to our schools – all part of the District’s 2017 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
- Our Gold Seal Choices are better than ever.
Watch the spots below:

Redescubre FWISD TV:30 - Spanish
Choices include industry-driven P-Tech pathways and Early College High Schools, where students can earn both a high school diploma and an associate degree. Connections with our amazing partners provide opportunities for internships and networking.
Billboards in prominent locations also urge parents to register their children at www.fwisd.org/register.
FORT WORTH ISD STUDENTS, PARENTS, AND EDUCATORS ASKED TO PROVIDE INPUT ON TECHNOLOGY
The Fort Worth ISD wants parents, students, and educators to help design the District’s Technology Plan for the future. This all happens as the District returns to total in-person instruction on August 16.
Beginning today stakeholders are invited to answer a short survey about their technology experiences and preferences.
Students and parents are being asked to share their opinions about technology options in the classroom and other learning experiences. Educators will weigh in on what instruction technology they would like to use. When all of these data are in, this information will go to the design team who will build the Fort Worth ISD Technology Master Plan.
Participants may access the survey here – by following a link or a QR code.
TARRANT COUNTY BACK TO SCHOOL ROUNDUP REGISTRATION UNDERWAY
Returning for its 17th year is the Tarrant County Back To School Roundup. Pre-registration is officially underway for the event slated for Friday, August 6 at the Tarrant County College South Campus, 5301 Campus Drive.
Families are encouraged to pre-register online, guaranteeing school-age children in Tarrant County public schools between ages 3-18 free school supplies and entry into the event. The Roundup is a one-stop event offering approximately 10,000 underserved Tarrant County school-aged children with free school supplies, backpacks, haircuts, health, dental and vision screenings, immunizations, health and social resources, activities and games.
For FWISD students, the free Tarrant County Back To School Roundup giveaways supplement school supplies from the District. Recently, the District announced that it’s picking up the tab for student school supplies.

WHHS ALUM EARNS USAF PILOT’S WINGS
Congratulations to Western Hills High School alumnus U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Valentin Hinojosa, who recently earned his pilot’s wings.
The 2014 WHHS alum graduated from the U.S. Air Force Pilot Training at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Oklahoma on Friday, July 16, fulfilling a childhood dream. 1st Lt. Hinojosa started Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training (SUPT) at Vance Air Force Base in late 2020. “[1st Lt. Hinojosa] goes on now as a fully rated USAF pilot to advanced flight training and assignment to the operational aircraft he will fly in our defense as the greatest nation in the world,” Col. Malesky said.
