Distance Learning
- Kindergarten and First Grade-----------Class Dojo
- Second and Third Grade-------Google Classroom
In an effort to ensure that our students receive services from our ASI, Reading Recovery, Math Specialist, Reading Specialist and ESL teachers, we have created a support block.
The block is designed to provide students with additional support without overwhelming them with "too much" screen time. We are cognizant of our students mental and physical health and did not want to consume their entire schedule with virtual sessions. Therefore, our support teachers are alternating their days throughout the week. Please refer to the schedule for details.
We are excited about Phase 2 of our Distance Learning Plan and can't wait to see our students on Monday!
Yours in education,
Dr. Christofferson

The Great Kindness Challenge was a success!
The Helping Chain-Students created a link that explained one way they showed kindness this week.
The Kindness Flower-The students created a flower and wrote down two ways they showed kindness this week.
Kindness Cards- Students created a card for "someone special" to thank them for being in their life.
Sphero Art with Ms. Schulte
The Sphero Play APP will enable the students to learn to code and complete challenges and games with their friends. The Mini Activity Kit comes with a Construction Set, Activity Cards, Pins, Cones and a Robotic Ball Cover. With the help of the teacher, students can follow the 15 STEM-inspired Activity Cards to build mazes, design obstacle courses, construct towers, play croquet, and more. We can't want to see the endless possibilities! Great job!

Global Read Aloud
Ms. Casey and Ms. Barros participated in a Global Read Aloud exchange with Ms. Cerebe’s class at Hazelwood using Padlet. Padlet is an online website where a bulletin board is created by the teacher. The students were invited to share their reflections on the books that the class were reading during Global Read Aloud. After the teachers approved the reflections, they were posted on the online bulletin board for others to see and comment on.
Our first book was Dreamers by Yuyi Morales, an autobiographical tale about being an immigrant from Mexico. The students loved sharing ideas and commenting on those of others. The link below will provide you with examples of the student responses! Happy Reading!
