A Look Ahead
School Closed 1/21
Please note that school will be closed on Monday, January 21st in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. day. Enjoy this time with your family and friends and we will see you back at school on Tuesday, January 22nd.
Citizen of the Month Awards 1/25
On Friday, January 25th, we will hold our Citizen of the Month Awards at 8am on the yard.
Throughout the month of January, students have been learning
what it means to display self-discipline.
Self-discipline is the ability to control one's feelings and overcome one's weaknesses. It allows us to think before we act and to make good choices for ourselves and others around us. Each student votes for someone in their class who has displayed these qualities and believes they should be recognized.
Be sure to ask your child about how they can show self-discipline. Each month, AMA will focus on a different trait based off the seven habits of effective leaders.
February's trait will focus on perseverance; the ability to work towards a goal even when you are faced with obstacles.
All Citizen of the Month Awards are formal dress days.
Second Grade Performance 1/25
Mrs. Sanchez's students will be performing in the MPR on Friday, January 25th at 2pm. All second grade family members are welcome to attend!
This is a formal uniform day for all students.
CA Coastal Art & Poetry Contest
We are so excited to announce that our students will be participating in this year's California Coastal Art and Poetry Contest! All of our students are currently working on a coastal themed project with Miss Jordan in art class. In addition to the art project, our 2nd-Multi-Age students will submit a piece of poetry that they are working on with Miss Milloy and Mrs. Sanchez. This will be a wonderful opportunity for the students and we can't wait to see how everyone does when the winners are announced in April!
